Schoolgirl Samplers:Often basic stitched samplers that portray the alphabet and numbers (normally up to 10) and decorative motifs, they were simplistic, and stitched at a very young age. Each stitch was executed usually in the most common cross-stitch, although some include a variety of stitches, they taught children patience along with learning their numbers and ABC's.
