Students will work a 51 cm x 51 cm square table centre. This is a project from Gay Eaton's "Ukrainian Whitework" book and is being taught with her permission.

JUNE & JULY GLOBE SAMPLER WORKSHOP
Saturday, 23rd June and Sunday 24th June and Sunday 1st July Three Full Days $240
This is Alison's brand new project. These small globes are little gems and the originals were made in the first half of the nineteenth century by schoolgirls at the Westtown School in Pennsylvania. Alison will be teaching a modern globe showing the continents and oceans.
The map is printed onto silk fabric ready for students to embroider with silk threads over the first two days of the workshop. On the final day the embroidery will be finished, the globe will be stuffed and its latitude and longitude lines added. Two sizes of globe will be offered: one approximately 9 cm diameter and the other approximately 12 cm diameter. The completed embroidery can be displayed in a perspex box or mounted onto a stand.
Notes and requirements, are additional.
SEPTEMBER "OTTOMAN SCARF" WORKSHOP

Ottoman embroidery has a long tradition using rich silk threads and interesting stitches. In this workshop, students will embroider on a beautiful cream fine pure wool scarf (provided in the workshop folio) using Gumnut "Stars" silk threads.
