Model stitched on 40 count fabric - 'Cocoa' by Weeks Dye Works with one strand of embroidery floss.

This is a reproduction of an English sampler made by Jane Southward in 1836.

The original has been stitched on linen with fine wool threads. The reproduction is charted for hand dyed cotton treads with DMC alternative.

Use one strand of cotton on 40ct linen.

One square in the chart represents 2 threads of linen. The sampler generally is worked in cross stitches over 2 threads.

The sampler is stitched using stranded cottons by The Gentle Art and Weeks Dye Works.

The Gentle Art Sampler threads: Evergreen, Forest Glade, Poinsettia, Pumpkin Patch.

Weeks Dye Works threads: Beige, Parchment, STraw, Skinny Dip, Tin Roof, Swiss Chocolate, Red Rocks, Charcoal, Brick, Oscar, Olive x 2, Aztec Red.


Chart includes a full conversion into DMC threads if preferred.
